Welcome to the headshot photography directory. This photo directory is the result of me wanting to study headshot photography and not being able to find a decent list of the best photographers that shoot model and actor head shots. I figured that I’d make my own list and put it up on the web so that other photographers, serious models, and actors could see what was available in the way of photographic talent. Sure you can go to Google and find a listing of photographers that shot headshots, but Google tends to list things in order of SEO talent, but not Photographic Talent. I know, I'm pretty good at SEO...
So what I did was sit in front of my TV with my wife, while simultaneously surfing around looking for the best headshot photographers in the country, or the world for that matter.
First off, let me freely admit that I know this is a subjective endeavor and I may have a different opinion than you do about what constitutes a great headshot shooter. And that’s okay. I’m looking for photographers that shoot headshots and have at least part of their market, being actual models and actors. I have found that most of these shooters consider themselves fashion photographers, and some just consider themselves portrait photographers. I really don’t care what all they shoot. I am just looking for samples of really good headshot photography and I wanted to list them all in one place so that I can, from time to time, go back and click around to see samples of great headshot photography.
Why collect headshot photography links?
I am just starting out shooting model and actor headshots and I’ve found that by studying other successful photographers, I can maybe steal, I mean borrow, an idea here and there that will make my own photography better. I figure why reinvent the wheel… If I see lighting techniques or even model poses that I like, why not incorporate these elements into my own photography? Some people my think this is cheating or dishonest, but I think of it as a good way to learn. Why now just study the best? Pleople have been doing it forever. At least smart people have...
Headshot photography rankings
This list of headshot photographers is not listed in any particular order. It’s not like I’m ranking them or something. Maybe I’ll end up doing that in the future, but for now, if they’re on the list, they’re on the list… I’ve also listed my site, not because I think I’m one of the best head shot photographers in the world, but to share with you my evolution as a headshot photographer, however humble that progression may be.

I know that someone is going to contact me, either wanting to be added to the site or with an idea of other headshot photographers that I may have missed. I welcome both types of additions. Just so that you know up-front though, I reserve the right to ignore you if I find that your suggestions are lacking merit. Having said that, by all means, please contact me with your comments and suggestions for additions to my list of the worlds best headshot photographers. That's the only way this site will grow, and as it does, it will become more and more useful as a resource for all of us.
